Gannett offers students a range of services designed to help prevent health problems before they develop. Please talk with a nurse or clinician at Gannett about your questions, concerns, and health risks, and learn about services that might be appropriate for you.

For Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP)  members who are eligible* to be seen at Gannett

The services listed below are "covered services" under the plan, when they are provided through Gannett Health Services.

NOTE: No coverage will be provided for Immunization Vaccines and Screening Evaluation services when they are obtained from other providers.

* Check your eligibility to use Gannett.

Immunization vaccines

(Doses, recommended ages, and recommended populations vary)

• Hepatitis A
• Hepatitis B
• Human Papillomavirus (women and men under age 26)
• Influenza (covered at Gannett for all students, no matter what health insurance plan they have)
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella
• Meningococcal
• Pneumococcal
• Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis
• Varicella

Screening evaluations

• Blood pressure
• Cholesterol
• Depression
• Diabetes
• HIV, syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia (on an annual basis, or more frequently if appropriate)
• Tobacco use
• Tuberculosis

Preventive health exams

These services are fully covered at Gannett for SHIP members.

• Physical exam
• Well woman annual exam
• Pap smears

SHIP coverage for Well woman annual exams and Pap smears also is available when provided by non-Gannett providers.

Check the SHIP Member's Guide for detailed information about services that are covered whether you get them at Gannett Health Services or through another provider (including well woman annual exam, Pap smear, and prostate cancer screening).

For students covered by health insurance other than Cornell's SHIP

Carefully review your insurance plan's details to find out what kind of coverage is available for preventive services provided at home, away from home, and at Gannett. If you do get services at Gannett, we can provide a receipt for charges that you can submit to your health insurance plan for possible reimbursement.
