Nutrition and Eating Problems

Good nutrition is closely connected with good health—both mental and physical.  Positive nutrition knowledge and practice provide the basic elements needed by everyone to perform well and to feel well. Meanwhile, navigating the large and complex Cornell campus is challenging for many.

If concerns about food and/or body image interfere with your life or become overwhelming, Gannett's Counseling and Psychological Services can help. CAPS, in conjunction with the Cornell Healthy Eating Program, provides information, evaluation, individual and group counseling, referral, and more.

Sometimes, balancing good eating as a priority becomes difficult along with all the other demands of academics, extracurricular activities, and social life.

For eating problems, the most effective treatment comes from a multidisciplinary approach. This may include a combination of psychotherapy (individual and/or group) with nutrition, medicine, and psychiatry visits. Learn more about Gannett's integrated approach to eating problems.

Gannett also provides information about nutrition and eating problems at Cornell and beyond.

The National Eating Disorders Association provides extensive information about eating disorders and treatment options.
