Advocacy for Victims

Victim Advocacy provides assistance to any member of the Cornell community who has been the victim of a crime or other traumatic incident, regardless of where it occurred. The Advocate supports individuals who have experienced harassment, physical or emotional/mental assault , stalking, violent or potentially violent relationships, sexual assault or rape, bias-related incidents, hazing related to group initiation or any other victimization.

The Advocate provides personal support, assists in identifying and using campus, community, and other resources, can work with faculty and staff on campus, and can accompany a victim to services. The service is free and "client-centered", which enables the individual to decide the best course of action for her/him.

The Program is open M-F, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

This is not a crisis service.

In an emergency or other crisis situation call 911, the Cornell Police at 255-1111, or the other emergency contact numbers.

The Victim Advocacy Program is a University-supported service, conveniently located in Gannett Health Services on central campus.
