We know that adjusting to the U.S. medical system can be challenging for students from other countries. Health care providers may ask questions at times that feel inappropriate or unnecessary. This may be especially true when it comes to sexual health.

Our medical staff will do their best to help you understand the reasons for their questions and for recommended care and treatment. While some questions may feel intrusive or personal, the questions are asked only so we can provide the best care for you. Our intentions are never to insult or to pry into your personal life.

Confidentiality is an essential component of our services. Your health care and health records will be carefully protected at Gannett.

Sometimes language is a barrier or an obstacle to you getting the care you need. If you would like to bring a friend, family member, or partner with you to help translate during to a visit, please let us know when you make your appointment. Additionally, Gannett's language line can also help ease the difficulty associated with asking questions in a language not your own. Female patients scheduling a gynecological exam at Gannett may find this option especially helpful as they learn more about the exam. Also, consider meeting with a Gannett Clinical Counselorwho can help you feel informed and ready for this exam.

We hope you will feel comfortable seeking health care at Gannett and we will do our best to make you comfortable and help you understand the system that will provide healthcare to you while you are on campus.
