Eating Problems Resources

Many people seek information about and assistance with their own or others' struggles related to eating. Cornell has a number of helpful resources, including: the Cornell Healthy Eating Program provides options for medical care and counseling; the creation of print and electronic information; and can offer advice about how to help a friend or conduct a program or workshops on this topic.

 Gannett Health Services

 

  • Physicians, Nurse Practioners, and Physician Assistants provide specialized medical care. To schedule a medical appointment or talk with a nurse, call 255-5155.
  • CAPS (Counseling & Psychological Services) offers assessment; confidential, short-term individual and group counseling; and , as appropriate, referrals for long term, therapy. To schedule an appointment, call 255-5208.
  • Nutritionist (RD) provides counseling and referral. To make an appointment, call 255-5155.
  • Health Promotion offers print and web-based information, inservice training, consultation and referral. Visit Gannett, Level 3, or call 255-4782.
  • Nutrition Clinic (of Elmira) specialized treatment for eating disorders; fees may be covered by insurance. Contact through Gannett providers or by calling 607 732-5646.

 

EARS (Empathy Assistance & Referral Service)

Trained volunteers staff a walk-in and telephone peer counseling and referral service: 255-EARS.
