Flu (influenza)

Cornell may seem isolated from the rest of the world, but in the case of the flu, it’s not. Most years, an outbreak of seasonal flu develops on campus just before or after winter break and lasts for a few weeks. Each year there are different types of seasonal flu virus in circulation. Flu season 2009-10 could be worse because there is a new flu virus spreading worldwide among people called new H1N1 “swine” flu. With both seasonal flu and H1N1 viruses circulating, taking action to prevent the flu is extra important this year.
