Even busy college students need to maintain good dental hygiene and healthy vision. Both are important components of overall health and wellness. Although Gannett does not provide dental care or vision services, the Ithaca area has many fine providers to serve your needs.

Finding a provider

• A current, comprehensive list of providers in any community in the U.S. can be found in the Yellow Pages.
• Search Ithaca-Area Yellow Pages.

Insurance

• If you have dental or vision insurance, be sure to inquire when you call a provider about whether his or her office participates with your insurance plan.
  
• Cornell's Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) makes optional coverage available to its participants. Learn more about the dental and vision plans and on participating providers.

Emergency

• If you have an eye or dental emergency, be sure to take appropriate action immediately.

Professional credentials

The New York State Education Department, Office of the Professions oversees the licensure of dentists, optometrists, and opticians.
