Eating Problems

Feelings about food and body image are different for everybody. For some, these issues can become an unhappy and unhealthy obsession. The Cornell Healthy Eating Program (CHEP) is designed to help you develop a positive relationship with food and your body.

Consider these questions

Do you…

  • Feel excessively concerned about your weight and how you look?

  • Feel guilty or like a failure when you eat certain foods or more than you planned?

  • Exercise compulsively or feel terrible if you have to miss a day of exercise

  • Make yourself vomit after meals or after a "binge"?

  • Use laxatives, diuretics, or “fat-burning” supplements to "get rid of" calories and lose weight?

  • Have a previous eating problem and would like ongoing monitoring or care?

If any of these apply to you (or to someone you know), CHEP can help connect you with services that are right for you. We provide high quality, integrated nutrition, medical, and psychological services under one roof at Gannett to address the eating problems of undergraduate and graduate students at Cornell. Our goal is to help you achieve lifelong healthy eating to enhance your personal health, academic potential, and overall well being.

Eating problems manifest themselves in many different ways, and no two eating problems are exactly alike. Where do you fit on the eating and body image continuum?

Whatever your level of interest, CHEP can help you find individualized assistance. Make an appointment with CHEP to discuss your concerns.
