Especially for Women

As a woman, your health needs are likely to change throughout your lifetime—and although your sexual health is only one component of your overall health and wellbeing, it is an important part.

If you are a woman who has been receiving sexual and reproductive health information since grade school, you may still be full of questions, especially if you are beginning to put all of that theoretical knowledge into practice. On the other hand, you may have grown up in an environment in which it was not okay to discuss such things. If so, you may be feeling a bit anxious about this area of your health, and hoping for some basic and straight-forward information. Or, this may be the first time you have considered sexual health as a part of your overall well-being. Cultural or religious attitudes may have provided some direction for you, but you may find that you are hearing a wide variety of opinions and information from friends and classmates that may conflict with your upbringing.

Let's face it; learning what there is to know about your own body is more difficult that it would seem. Unlike your male counterparts, most of your sexual health organs are located where it's difficult (or even impossible) to see on your own. This necessitates getting regular medical exams, as well as becoming an informed patient. We hope that the pages on this website will help you learn about your own sexual health needs.

The pages here will continue to expand as we add information. Check back periodically to get more information, health hints and current updates on sexual health matters for women. And, if there's something specific you'd like to know about, feel free to send us an e-mail.
