Care for the Flu
Flu symptoms come on rapidly and range from mild to severe. Some people describe the flu as feeling like they got hit with a ton of bricks. Most people who become sick with flu don't have much time to realize what hit them. You may feel like you went from being completely healthy one minute to having full-blown flu the next.
This is why it is important to prepare for the flu before it arrives.
- Have a flu kit ready.
- Understand any particular risks you might have associated with underlying health conditions (such as asthma; diabetes; immune suppression; diseases of the lungs, heart, kidneys, and liver; and pregnancy.)
- Know whom to call for support, consultation, and advice.
- Do what you can to keep flu away from everyone around you, including yourself.
