Retention in the IVY, the How & Why of It

Meditation and Prayer Space Available During Study/Exam Period

9 am to 10:30 pm daily

As part of its focus on creating a caring community at Cornell, Cornell United Religious Work invites you to use its meditation and prayer space in Anabel Taylor Hall. This space is open to the entire Cornell community during building hours. The room is furnished with a plush carpet, meditation pillows, and a kneeler. Free Cornell Outdoor Education Stress Busters 

Sign up with a friend. No experience is needed.Whether just for a half hour, or as much as two hours, briefly escape library and laboratory, the books and papers, and get some healthy and fun exercise—feed your soul as well as your brain! Coffee Hour

Come hang out with old friends and converse with new friends over a free cup of coffee or tea! Coffee Hour represents a time and place where people can meet each other for the sake of developing new connections and friendships. The goal is to integrate the network of students and organizations on campus who otherwise may not cross paths by encouraging those with similar interests to connect.

Instructor Kati Hanna '64 helps slow you down and develop mindfulness. Just show up for half-hour of relaxing exercise!  Develops mindfulness. It's good for your mental & physical health.

Tibetan Buddhist Meditation

Students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend these meditation sessions, led by Namgyal Monastery Monks.

Al-Anon Group

Mondays, 12:15-1 pm
Edwards Room in Anabel Taylor Hall

This noon-time AFG (Al-Anon Family Group) is open to all members of the community. It offers strength and hope for friends and family members of problem drinkers. Feel free to bring your lunch. Learn about other alcohol and other drug support groups.

Life coaching for CU faculty & staff

Would you like to talk to someone from the Wellness Program about something on your mind or a change you are wanting to make? If you are looking to have a conversation about health, nutrition, fitness, or a general topic, this is an opportunity for you. The Wellness Program professionals are certified coaches who can help you clarify your thinking around what's most important to you. Half hour sessions can be done in person or by telephone; they are free and confidential. Email Kerry at kk253@cornell.edu or call 254-2985 to schedule a life coaching session. If your concern is more in-depth, The Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) offers free, confidential, professional counseling and consultation services by telephone or in person.
